Are you a Christian?

Have you surrendered to Jesus as Lord?  Are you living your life for the life to come?  Is your eternity secure?  The offer of salvation from an eternity in hell is offered to all who will accept it.  What's this all about?

The Problem

The Bible tells us that we have been created by a loving and just God. The Bible also tells us that we have chosen to disobey God. We have sinned. We have chosen to do things that go against what God says is right. This is a problem and deserves punishment.

Romans 3:23; Romans 3:10-11; James 2:10

The Punishment

God is loving, which means that He is just and He will punish all sin, as would any just judge. The Bible tells us that the punishment we face for our sins is death and hell. God is just, but He is also loving and has provided us with a way to avoid this fate.

Hebrews 9:27; Romans 3:23; Revelation 20:11-15; Revelation 21:8

The Provision

God has provided a way through which we could be given a second chance through Jesus Christ. Jesus came to live as the sinless God-man. He then suffered death on the cross for our sins. Having no sin of His own, He suffered and died in our place - He took our rightfully deserved punishment - in order to appease God's justice.

John 3:16; Romans 5:8; 2 Corinthians 5:21

The Promise

We are promised by God that if we agree with God that we have sinned, if we turn from our sinful way of life, and if we ask forgiveness for our sins, and if we believe that the resurrected Jesus is our Lord and our Savior, then we will be saved from the eternal punishment which awaits us.

Acts 2:38; Romans 10:9

What You Should Do

1. Admit that you have sinned.

2. Believe that Jesus died for your sin and rose from the dead.

3. Repent of your sin.

4. Ask for forgiveness and acknowledge Jesus as Lord.

5. Tell someone.

If you have surrendered to Jesus, what you have just done isn't the end, but the beginning of a life long faith journey. God wants you to be baptized and to serve Him in a Bible-believing church. To know His will for you each day and live out the repentance that you have committed to, you'll need to read the Bible and spend time in prayer daily.
